His Presidency

During Rutherford B. Hayes presidency in 1879, President Rutherford Hayes signed the Act to Relieve Certain Legal Disabilities of Women, which cleared the way for female attorneys to argue cases in any U.S. federal court.

Rutherford B. Hayes was elected president in 1876. He was president from 1977-1981. Rutherford's vice president was William A. Wheeler, who was also vice president from 1977-1981. They were both Republicans.

Rutherford had civil war wounds. He was one of the five presidents to sereve in a war, but the only one to ever be wounded

Rutherford B Hayes was America's 19th president. As we do from all presidents, we benefited from him being our president. After being the governer of Ohio, Hayes ran, and won, for president. One of the most important events that he had to do with, was signing the Act to Relieve Certain Legal Disabilities of Women

Rutherford was born October 4th, 1822.

In his early years, he attended Kenyon Collage and Harvard Law School. Before that however, his father had died a few moth before Hayes' birth.
