TO PREVENT CHOKING IN CHILDREN

1. Look for age guidelines when selecting toys for children.

2. Don't give small hazardous objects to children, they often put them in their mouth choke.

3. Keep balloons and plastic bags away from any small children for the same reason.

CHILDREN

1. Use only one hand instead of two to perform chest compressions.

2. Breathe more gently.

3. Use the same compression-breath rate as is used for adults, 30 compressions followed by two breaths, each one second.

4. If you're alone, perform 5 cycles of compressions and breaths on the child.

The most common cause of cardiac arrest in infants is due to the lack of oxygen
