Active recreation: An activity that requires a considerable expenditure of energy - e.g: cycling.
Passive recreation: Involves little exertion, but is generally sustained - for example, reading and fishing.
The difference between the two is that active activity involves using a lot of energy and makes you move around a lot and makes you active. When passive activity is more of a leisure or relaxation activity as you are more calm and you don't have to move as much.
It is importance to balance both active and passive activity in your lifestyle as your body needs to keep active an moving for you to become healthy and fit ,whilst allowing your body to relax and rejuvenate.
