One of the requirements for the Goals essay is to include figurative language in your paper. The natural place to do this is in the introduction. Today, we will have a refresher on different examples of figurative language.
The verse "Footprints dressed in red" and "the wind whispers Mary" are great examples of personification. .
The verse "I love you like a love song" is a simile because it is comparing her love for someone to a love song. She used figurative language to describe her love for someone.
The verse "I'd catch a grenade for you/ throw my hands on a blade for you/ I'd jump in front of a train for you"is an example of hyperbole. He uses hyperbole to express his feeling to a girl who cheated on him.
The verse "My heart's a stereo" is comparing his heart to a stereo. This song also uses an extended metaphor to compare relationships to music records.
