Logographic writing: A system of this kind uses a tremendous number of signs, each to represent a morpheme.

Japanese:

Based on modified Chinese characters to represent the inflectional endings and other grammatical morphemes. Thus in Japanese writing, Kanji is commonly used for the verbs roots, and hiragana symbols for the inflectional markings.

Chinese: (writing system in current use) Consists of a vast number of signs or characters, of which several thousands are in common use. Generally, each character represents a monosyllabic morpheme.

Alphabetic Writing: Ideally each letter represents one speech sound and rules govern combinations from this small set of basic symbols into higher order linguistic units.

Consonantal Alphabet writing: Are also known as Abjads,Is a segmental script containing for consonants only, or where vowels are optionally written with diacritics (pointing) or only written word-initially.
