Supporting Biliteracy Awareness
As you can see the options are in Spanish. Teachers who only speak English have the option to translate this page to assign books or a focus.
Once in the app ELL students who are focusing on biliteracy can choose the Espanol tab to find books in Spanish.
Tumblebooks is a wonderful option for ELL students. It allows teachers to choose books that keep the ELL student focused on the same standards the rest of the class is working on, but offers it in a way that they can understand. Because it also offers so many books in English and Spanish students can also focus on building vocabulary.

Tumblebooks only offers English and Spanish so it is only a good choice for ELL students whose first language is Spanish.
Our strategy book discusses this strategy starting on page 111 (Herrell & Jordan 2019)
