Lilly's mom, Lorraine, has 2 part-time jobs and has a small budget for rent. In her neighborhood, Lilly walks past abandoned homes on her way to and from school. This makes Lorraine nervous for Lilly's safety.
This is Uncle Nick and cousins Trey and Lynn. Uncle Nick is addicted to heroin and has previously overdosed two times. Lilly worries about Uncle Nick. She also worries about her cousins who live with Uncle Nick on the weekends.
