Patient Robert Smith is a 20 Dancer who was presented with difficulty breathing and being weak after recent performances, Chronic Fatigue, Shortness of Breath, Muscle Weakness, Joint Pain, Abdominal Pain, and Easy bruising. The patient has had history of being a smoker and alcoholic.
Clinical Findings
The patients has had a active history of bleeding problems and Anemia in the family. Based upon these symptoms, we decided to run the following tests. The results showed that the patient has sickle cell anemia.
The interactions between the two systems are the circulatory system struggling due to the blood not having enough energy for the other systems and because of this the skin turns pale white due to low amount of blood from the sickle cells.
The lesson I learned from this investigation was that sickle cell is harsh to the heart.
Treatment Focus
The main indicators that lead to a diagnosis of Sickle Cell Anemia were the blood smears being shaped as a Sickle. Initially we considered it to be caused by another disease but ruled it out because of the absence of anything unhealthy. This disease affects the interactions between the circulatory and the integumentary system.
