If the Indians government would built more homes for the poor, they would not be any slums.Slums are people who live under lets say a box or cardboard who didn't really planned out the construction . Population & Resources
In India, the population have grown rapidly over 60 years, from being 360 million in the year 1947 to now, approximately 1.16 billion. What will happen if the population keeps growing? There will be no resources . As the population of India starts to increase, resources such as water and crops, forest , Land areas and water resources are starting to decrease. According to the Times of India, the government of India doesn't do anything to find ways to control the population.People in India are getting seriously ill due to the rise of pollution.Traffic is rising and causing illness such as lung cancer, and many other illness. From traffic it cause low resources because of low hospital and doctors. Their natural resources are limited (water, crops, animals) whereas their population is growing.
India has been decreasing since the 2000s, which is good. That means that the death rate is increasing while the birth rate decreasing. But what is causing most of it is the vaccinations the doctors are giving to their patients in order to prevent a big population. But will they continue to do this? During 2000-2006 the death rate was increasing, but in 2007-2009, it was decreasing. This means that the death rate has been decreasing at that time.
Hey whats the difference between rural and cities you ask. In 2011, rural population was last measured at 68.70% according to the World Bank. And at 2011, urban population was last measured at 31.30% according to the World Bank. In rural , parents rarely educate their children, and instead, make their children work in the fields. People living in urban India have better living conditions than those living in the rural parts of India ,why you ask. Well in rural they don't have a good enough hospitals compared to Urban and there very poor and they most of the developments have not yet reached the rural parts of India. People who moved to the cities to make more money are really spending a lot of money back to rural which they migrated. Between 2009 and 2012, spending by the 69 percent of the Indian population living in rural areas increased by about 67 billion.
Since India is already the 2nd most populated country, they had made laws that can decrease the population a bit. One of the laws were that The Kerala Women’s Code Bill that was establish in 2011, would impose a fine of 10,000 rupees (aka US$200) or three months in jail for couples having more than two children. According to the women citizens of India, they find this unfair since they love the idea of having a big family. One thing that we found very cruel is that they are starting to put birth control into the women so they don't reproduce more children.
About 37 percent of all female sterilizations in the world take place in India. Some 4.6 million Indian women were sterilized during 2011-2012, according to the government figures.
Pollution and a very populated country don't go well together. In fact, India’s extreme air pollution is cutting three years off the lives of some of the country’s residents, according to study. Yes, this may decrease the population but what about the pollution? This can also effect the air and animals in a bad way. But this isn't just only a couple hundred people that are dying, this is 660 million people in total that live in regions of the country that have air pollution levels higher that is higher than India’s national standards. This isn't a reasonable solution for decreasing the population too.
India has interesting things that you may not know. Did you know...
But there's the not so good about India. India population is increasing and pollution is causing people very sick. The current population is 1.21 billion, and becoming the world most populous country by 2030. But will happen to the housing?
How will we handle this situation?
