Vascular Bundles in Dicots vs. Monocots
Vascular bundles are arranged in a circle with xylem on the inside and phloem around them on the outside.
A monocot stem is different. The vascular bundles are scattered throughout the stem and not in a circular pattern. The part of each bundle that is white and on the inside is the xylem and the phloem is the part of each bundle on the outside and is darker.
In a dicot stem the xylem forms an x in the middle of the vascular bundle which is the big circle in the middle. The phloem are in the area around the x but still inside the vascular bundle.
The vascular bundles are arranged in a circle instead of an x with the xylem again on the inside and the phloem on the outside
