• NC state was founded on March 7, 1887
• College opens for classes on October 3, 1889
• First graduate class recieves their degrees in 1893
• The first yearbook of NC State(the agromeck) is established in 1903
• The total number of degrees awarded reaches 1,000 in 1916
• First P.H.D is awarded in Rural Sociology
• Memorial Tower is comleted in 1937
• The University celebrates its 50th anniversary 1937
• First foundation established to attract private support in 1942
• Total degrees awarded reaches 10,000 in 1949
• Enrollment reaches 5,000 in 1956
• Total degrees awarded reaches 25,000 in1964
• Single year enrollment reaches 20,000 in 1966
• Total degrees awarded reaches 50,000 in 1975
• The university is rewarded a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in 1994
