The Tang Dynasty was founded
in 618 C.E.
The Tang empire came after the
Sui empire,which ended in 618,
which was the same year the Tang
dynasty started. And you can notice
some of the similarities between
the 2 empires, such as the same
tax system, as well as the same
military system.
Some popular rulers of the Tang Dynasty were Wu Zetian, (who was infact the first and last Chinese emperess) Xuanzong, and as well Li Shimin.
Li Shimin was the founder, and he even took over the Sui dynasty, to call it his own in 618 C.E.
Wu Zetian, was the first and last Chinese emperess, and ruled for almost half a century
Xuanzong appointed some wicked chancellors who corrupted the political order.
Which leads me to my second point...
Confucianism affected many aspects of the chinese government and society.
Confucius also influenced society because he thought society should be put into five basic relationships. A code of conduct, governed the relationships
The Tang dynasty was very sucessful, they invented block printing.
In 755, An Lushan aligned with Shi Siming and launched a rebellion, called the An Shi, a rebellion which lasted for eight years and heavily knocked the Tang's government. From then on, the national strength was weakened daily by rebellion forces in local areas. Because of the lack of ability, the emperors the dominance of the ruler and power struggles between chancellors became increasingly intense. That lead to the downfall of the Tang dynasty
