Truths of Current Civilizational Reality

For the past 100 years we, in the Western world, have created a greater material wealth than any other society in the history of the human race, according to Fromm.

1. 7.2 Billion People living on the Planet.

2. In 2009, 3.4 Billion live in cities, urban popultion is

expected to increase by 84% to 6.3 Billion, in 2050.

3. $1.2 Quadrillion of Global Wealth (Real/ Fictitious).

4. Currently, there are 1,645 Billionaires, of which, 172 are

women. In percentages, means there are 0.00000037% of

the population who are extremely wealthy; 80 people hold

the total combined wealth of 3.6 Billion people.

In that same period, there have been wars and conflicts dating back to 1870, 1914, 1939, 1945 - 1991, 1991 - 2015.

**It would take approximately $3.5 Trillion to eradicate extreme world poverty (e.g. hunger, clean water, housing, medical care, etc.) (J. Sachs, 2006)**
