A Story to Remember

Ochoa owned a gold mining company. One year Ochoa was offered to go into to business with two men who claimed to be able to enlarge his gold mining production. While Ochoa was sick the men stole his gold and his horses. A few years later in 1936, Ochoa was walking along the street with the chief of police, saw the two men. They drew their guns and Ochoa, who is unarmed, grabbed the chief's gun and shot them both. After the incident a judge found that there was reason to fire but apparently the men were of influential families and Ochoa was advised to go back to Mexico.

Ochoa was an inventor and and revolutionary. One of his most popular inventions was the Ochoa plane. He is also popular for once having a $50,000 price on his head for starting a revolt that stirred up the entire republic. He went to Fort Stockington to avoid bounty hunters, but finally gave himself to Fox head of the Texas Rangers.
