in North Carolina during the 17th and 18th century, lived the Eno Native Americans. Also known as the Enoke or Wyanoak. which was later moved into the Catawba nad Saponi tribes. They lived in the Piedmont NC, mostly in what is now known as the durham and chapel hill area. Little is known about them, and their history is recorded in Virginia and North Carolina documents.
Conclusion
i am unable to find information on the culture of my tribe, due to the lack of information that was gathered about them. I assume they had discovered some cotton and tobbacco plants since it is popular in NC. As well as fiching, for the river located near the tribe was named after them.
The Eno is included in the Adshusheer tribe, which is one of the famous American Indian villages in the Sioux, which was the main nation of Indians that lived in the Piedmont. There was four main groups of indians that lived in the four regions of North Carolina. The Cherokee lived in the mountains; the Sioux in the piedmont; the Algonquin on the coast; and the Tuscarora, of Iroquois stock from the north, came and went as hunters.
History
Eno indians were located in the Piedmont area in NC. the villages of Eno Town and Adshusheer have not been located in what is now Durham County, some information about related Siouan-speaking peoples in the region was found. they were associated with the tribes; Adshusheer and Shakori. Which was part of the Siouan stock. Little is known of them because of how they disappeared from history as tribal bodies about 1720. Then later on the Eno tribe was incorporated into the catawba and Saponi Tribes. In 1701 Lawson found the Eno, Shakori, and the Adshusheer. He then united with them together. Their village, which he calls Adshusheer, was on Eno river, about 14 miles east of the Occaneechi village. It was near the site of the current Hillsborough. This would place the former not far north east of Durham, N. C.

William Strachey was the first to mention the Enos in historic documents. The village of “Œnock” in the Piedmont of North Carolina was visited by John Lederer in 1670. many english explorers came to the shores of Virginia and North Carolina. Almost all of them fell upon the Adshusheer, which included the Eno, Shakori and Saponi. They have given reports and wrote books about the tribes.
