John Jagamarra

John Jagamarra was a half cast boy who was half aboriginal and half white. His mother (Liyan) tort him the aboriginal way on how to live.

but the big man from welfare wanted all half cast children to learn the white way because they were also half white and that they would take John to Pearl Bay Mission.

Liyan put the burnt stick ashes on John so he can blend in with the rest aboriginals when the welfare man came the first time to take John. The man from welfare didn't notice

The second time they did the same thing ask the first time but Liyan almost gave the clue away.

They danced with joy and clapped their clap sticks

after celebrating they went to sleep.

The man of welfare must of though there was a mistake with the documents.

liyan thought that they would never see the big man from welfare again.

so the celebrated each time they tricked the man from welfare

Going back to Dryborough.

While the sun was rising john dint have they ashes on him he was his normal colour which was lighter then the rest.

The big man from welfare snack in and woke up john jagamarra to take him away to pearl bay mission. Everyone else woke up and cried wit Liyan and John and moaned.

Once he grew older and had his own son he went back to Dryborough and looked fro his mother,she wasn't there and he sat down and said all the stories his mother said to him.

John was taken and was taught the white way, how to read and write, how to count, how to add and subtract and they were also taken to church where the priest spoke gibberish.

He would always have that thought of him one day going back to Dryborough Station and visiting his mother.
