Alilo goes from Algeria to Paris to pick up a suitcase of knock off dresses to smuggle back to Algiers for resale.
He's lost the address and has to stay with his cousin Mok.
Mok makes rap music of Jean de La Fontaine's fables, is in debt to his bookie, and in love with a punk rocker.
Fatoumata (an African beauty) falls for Alilo's old-country sweetness,
Once Alilo gets the dresses, he must return to Algiers, but he realizes his journey has only begun.
