Predators

Adaptions

One of the toucans adaption is its beak, its beak allows them to eat, which keeps them alive and its claws grip onto the tree so its away from the danger down below. Its bright colours also help it to blend in with its surroundings. Also Toucans beaks help them keep cool in the hot environment where they live. This adaption is one of the best heat regulating systems in the animal kingdom. Their beak acts as a heat exchanger, which regulates the body temperature by adjusting their blood flow.

Predators of toucans include wildcats such as Jaguars and Pumas, and birds of prey such as Eagles. Snakes and climbing rodents are more dangerous to Toucan chicks and eggs that are still in the nest
