- Be very careful using sarcasm on campus. While some children are mature enough to appreciate it, others just pretend to understand it.

Some students will not be here for the first day; they may be waiting for visas. If there is a name on your roster but no student, we are holding that spot for them.
Have a great week and....
Pair up a non native speaker with a friend who speaks their language.
LOOK FOR THE AWESOME!!!
Identify faculty members who speak the student's language. Ask them to check with the student during the first week.
And don't forget to turn in your packing slips to the LS Office so we can check off all items received before we pay our suppliers!!!
Check in with the
student often...even
if they look like they
"get it".
Find out if parents/guardian speak English or if they have a someone who can interpret for them.
