Language
The Cree people could speak three different languages. They could speak English, French, and Cree. The Cree language was made of many symbols. The symbols meant sounds that when put in specific order, it would make words. The Cree nation spoke Cree among themselves but spoke English when trading.
Cree artists are known for their knitting crafts,wood -carvings,and colorful bed work.Like other Eastern American Indians, and Quebec also crafted wampum out of white and purple shell.Wampum beds were traded as a kind of more culturally material. The designs and pictures on wampum belts often told a story or represents a persons family.
Religion
Feasts are one of the most important and sacred celebrations in the Cree culture.These feasts show respect to the animals that they have hunted if the feasts are carried out in the proper way.The Walking Out Ceremony is performed when infants are old enough to walk. This ceremony welcomes children into the Cree community.Children walk through the doorway of a tent that faces east towards the rising sun.
In the past,as in the earliest periods of cree,there has been no history of the cree indians of the wester woods having any type of religious ceremony.Yet in recent history there has been practices of"tea dances".These were for thanksgiving and were held in the spring and autumn.The cree have also practices feasts or dances after sucessful hunts within the tribe.
The Cree tribe ate many types and kinds of food but the main source of food was buffalo hide.They lured some buffalo into a buffalo pound.After the buffalo is in the pound,they killed them with arrows and guns.
Women cut the buffalo meat
into strips and dried them
in the sun.Then,they mixed
the strips with animal fat
and mixed berries.this is called pemmican.The pemmican helped the Cree
tribe survive in the cold weather.

The Cree people could easily adapt to many places including swamps, forest, and flat lands. The Cree nation was split into eight groups based on religion and arts. They would live around Canada. The Cree nation could not live in any of the territories of Canada (Yukon etc.) because of the cold weather.
The Cree tribe believed in many values and beliefs.They loved to share stories and beliefs with "outsiders". Here is some beliefs listed from the beliefs they believed.

In the Cree religion,there is no such thing as a shaman or priesthood.The Cree religion is animistic.(This means all living beings and little inanimate objects had spirits.

Memekwesiw is a creature from Cree myths.They are small river dwelling water spirits.They often play tricks but are not dangerous.They sometimes capsize canes if they are not treated with proper respect.They are the size of young children.Their name is said differently in different Cree tribes.
The Cree wore deerskin and animal fur. The leggings were usually made from buckskin or leather.
Plains Cree men wore a breechcloth of deerskin or buffalo hide.Breechclout consisted of two pieces of leather hung from a belt,one in front and one behind.
Women wore dresses with movable sleeves.
Cree people living on the prairies they lived in tipis(wigwams).In the buildings of the shelters begins with the poles the men made the poles steady after sticking them together at the top to make a cone shaped tipi.they tilted other poles between the three original poles to make a circle.The women made large sheets from deer hides,moss skins and buffalo robes.
