introduced. Other characters become aware of what's going on and help Marshal, Hank and the angels to redeem their small town and the people in it.

Frank Peretti writes about Angels, Demons and God. In his book This Present Darkness he creates a contemporary christian novel based on his ingenious version of Ephesians 6:12. "For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (RSV). This book has become a screaming success and is estimated to sell millions of copies around the world.

However, the question among all readers lips is whether This Present Darkness is prophetic or based on biblical fact. In the rest of this article we'll find out.

Demons have manifested into the small town of Aston and have started a spiritual and fleshly warfare against angels and humans. Their goal: Take over the world unnoticed. If they are caught or discovered, their tracks will be cleared. Unfortunately for Marshal Hogan and Hank Busche they became a little too close to the the truth and were both wrongly accused of various crimes and sent to jail. This is when the Angels are

"Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers." Luke 22:31-32

Ordinary people

Possession

leading extraordinary events

James 4:7

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." In This Present Darkness the demons possess man without being noticed, suspected or obvious. Much how it usually is. A demon can be seen or known if tasked to do so and in This Present Darkness they are mostly quiet and sneeky. The subject is seen, to people, as though he/she is crazy, not possessed.

In any typical adventure, science fiction, horror or thriller story, the characters are always perceived for being normal, ordinary people. This is to make the story somewhat relate able for the audience who are also 'ordinary'. It also works well with scripture because in Acts 4:14 it says "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus." We are all ordinary, but once we let Jesus into our hearts we are immediately called to do and witness extraordinary things. When people notice these seemingly normal people achieving and speaking of such things and believe that it is true, it becomes undeniable.
