URBANIZATION IN MALAYSIA
2.2 URBAN POVERTY
a) Migration of people from the rural area to the urban area.
- movement of people to a new area or country in order to find work or better living conditions
- they can improve their lives and can achieve their self-goals such as to get high salary, high position and etc.
- a multidimensional phenomenon where the urban poor live with many deprivations
- situation where one country faced an insufficient and lacking of resources and materials to be distribute towards the citizen

b) Increasing of the foreigner in our country.
c) Increasing of unemployment rate in Malaysia
- Malaysia is one of the country that practices an open-door policy.
- Malaysia encourage many investor to make investment in Malaysia. This is done through the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
- also increase the number of foreign workers in Malaysia.
- most of them work as the house maid and labour sectors.
- once unemployment rate is increase government need to supply many aid and subsidies to the people.
- a lot money will be spent to the citizen and this will lead to the lacking of financial in the country.
- once the unemployment rate increase, this lead to the insufficient of money, basic necessities and so on.
- population which is shift from the rural area to the urban area.
- the process which towns and cities was formed and it became larger and more larger.
- In Malaysia, three highly urbanized states which is Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang and Selangor become the most rapid urban growth places and was followed by Johor and Melaka.
3.2 Education Opportunity for the Poor.
- By having a good education people are able to improve their skills and able to have a critical thinking.
- in order to provide education for the poor, government had provide some aid to help them.
- government also provides fund for poor people.
- Example: SPBT,(KWAPM) and RMT
3.0 SOLUTIONS (STRATEGIES TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEMS)
3.1 CAMPAIGNS AND ENFORCEMENT

- may opened up the mind set of the society towards the environmental pollution and can create awareness among the society.
- encourage society to cooperate each other to clean up their residence to prevent pollution.
- Example: Earth Hour and 3R's
- public transport is one of the main necessity that needed by citizen in Malaysia.
- the existence of public transport cannot accommodate and deal with the citizen of Malaysia that is compact.
- public transport are still trapped with the problems such as train delays, erratic time schedules, low and poor quality of buses, awful customer services and many other.

2.1 POLLUTION OF ENVIRONMENT
WATER POLLUTION
- factor that contribute to the pollution is the illegal factories or even houses that have an improper or poor infrastructure which involved to the improper waste from the building.
- water pollution will bring difficulties towards people in the rural area that use river as their water resources to cook or even to wash their clothes.
- Some of the irresponsible people pollute the water with the large scale disposal of garbage, tyres, ashes and other waste
- Pollution not only disturbs our ecosystem and the balance of our environment but also has lead to a global warming problem as well as human illness.
- It has contribute to the degradation of environment quality especially the quality of water and air.
- has lead to various types of pollution of environment such as water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution and many other.
- local authority and government have to collaborate and cooperate together in order to overcome the problem arise.
- allocation that have been provided can be used to increase the number of public transport that offered.
- improving the traffic flow especially on the major roads.
- build a better public transport from the bottom up and by having a complete public transport network.
AIR POLLUTION
- Air pollution is a harmful and dangerous pollution in our environment.
- air pollution are caused by the smoke emitted by cars, busses, taxis, trucks, trains and even factories.
- Effect from the air pollution can be seen through the increasing number of lung cancer patients, asthma, cough and other various breathing problems
- can contribute to the acid rain and haze.
NOISE POLLUTION
- the disturbing or excessive noise that may affect the activity of human life.
- also include construction activities, aircraft noise, noise from transportation such as cars, bus, trucks, industry noise, loudspeakers, machines and many others.
- may give effect towards hearing problems, health issues, sleeping disorder, having trouble when communicate and many other.
