-First person ever to dissect a cadaver by himself

-Doing this he proved Galen (a second-century anatomist) wrong

-Galen- tried to apply animal structure to the human body (essentially saying we were all the same)

-It was illegal to use human cadavers so Galen used apes resulting in many errors in the human data (RM, Plc "Impact")

-it was through cadaver dissections Vesalius did this

-Graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium after spending 1529-1533 there

-Spent 1533-1536 in Padua in Northern Italy getting his medical doctorate

-1537- offered a chair position on the board of surgery and anatomy at Padua University

-Noted as the professor of anatomy

-Made his own charts for blood

-pamphlet on treatments for doctors-

-wrote the book 'De Humani Corporis
