How did the Empire settlement act affect Australians

The Empire settlement Act established immigration schemes between the British and Australian Governments to assist ‘suitable persons’ to immigrate to Australia. People were helped with fares, living allowances, training, employment and grants of farmland.

Most Australians at the start of the empire settlement act agred to it a thought it was a good plan but by the first year the empire settlement act was going down hill and Australian's were complaining. They weren't getting the money and farm land they were promised and people weren't happy with the people the act was chosing.
