Paul experiences conflict within himself after his father gets into an accident. He feels guilty for keeping him up that night, as well as, sorry for his dad.

Paul vs Finnie-
Paul anf Finnie are the best of friends, nut yet there is tension between them. Paul does't understand the way Finnie thinks. Paul tries to get Finnie to continure hockey which Paul doesn't want to do. Paul wishes he was like Finnie in some cases and is later dissappointed in his friend when he hits rock bottom.
Finnie vs Society-
Finnie hates all things "flashy." He hates lots of things in society, especially the extroadinary life that comes along with his father's wealth.
