What would happen when you combine baking soda and vinegar?
The more baking soda you pour in the vinegar, the more bubbles and fizz it will create.
The baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) is a base while the vinegar(acidic acid) is an acid. When they react together they form carbonic acid. Carbonic acid is very unsteady; it breaks apart into water and carbon dioxide, which creates all the fizzing and bubbles as it escapes the solution.
In conclusion, the experiment we conducted was an acid-base reaction. Sodium bicarbonate and acidic base react together to form carbonic acid. The more sodium bicarbonate you pour in the acidic acid, the greater reaction it will have.
In order to demonstrate how sodium bicarbonate and acidic acid react together, we conducted a scientific experiment using baking soda and vinegar.
1) Put on safety goggles
2)Place 200mL of vinegar into a beaker or container.
3)Pour in two spoons of baking soda
