-vigorous rhythm

-basso continuo

Corelli was a brilliant composer of the baroque era. His many works of the many different music forms, such as the Concerto Grossi, and his Sonatas have brought much identity to him, and music in general. I think he is a brilliant composer, who made many wonderful masterpieces. For the piece itself, I find it soothing as the violins soloists are complimented with the harpsichord and the bass, as it plays through the movements,

La Folia by Corelli

La Folia

-this piece was made in the 1700 by Corelli

-this piece consists of a single violin with a compliment of a harpsichord.

-the piece contains basso continuo for the melody, trills and a vigorous rythm.

My opinion on the piece:

My thoughts on Corelli:

-The composer Corelli is a diligent and creative man that constantly produced masterpieces like the La Folia, opus 6 and opus 5 series, which contributed towards other famous composers like Antonio Vivaldi which was one of Corelli’s best students that has succeeded after him.

- his music also was made into stories

Solo sonata

Concerti Grossi

-One of his most famous solo sonata pieces was the La Folia made in the 17th century (opus 5)

-La Folia was one of Corelli’s greatest pieces for the op 5 series(solo sonatas), one of his best students named Geminiani was very fond of this piece so he rearranged it as concerti grossi

- this piece gave Corelli the inspiration and the knowledge to continue on to his greatest piece which was the Concerti Grossi opus 6.

This piece is very vigorous for the violin because of the staccato and it slowly accelerates the pace as the peice in plays closer to the middle. this piece is very smooth because of the melody and the violin syncronised.

Arcangel C relli

-Corelli has written 12 pieces in the Concerto Grosso form

-These 12 pieces were well known, and was called the Concerti Grossi Opus 6

-Arcangelo Corelli did not create the Concerto Grosso music itself

-showed the potentials of this form of music, and brought much attention to it. His work was what made this music form popular

-It is said that without the success of Corelli's Concerti Grossi, the masterpieces of Concerto Grosso later on, by Vivaldi, Handel, and Bach, could not have happened

-Unfortunately, Corelli never saw the publication of his concerti Grossi Opus 6, as it was published after his death
