Now that you have watched all the clips, try and form an opinion that you believe in or feel strongly about, even against.
Write down your thoughts.
Now find an academic piece of literature to support your thought, feeling, opinion. Academic DOES NOT include you tube clips or websites, newspapers or magazines.
Consider the following
1. Shane refers to ‘they’, who do you think ‘they’ are?
2. ‘I will love myself despite the ease with which I lean towards the opposite’. What do you think Shane means by this?
3. What are the repercussions of terminology? ie) Shane not knowing the difference between a pork chop or a karate chop.
4. What effect do you think a nickname could have on a child?
5. How will you strike a balance between 'less pain and more beauty' in your teaching/coaching?
6. Did the TED talk effect you in anyway, if so how?
Watch the clips, take notice of the questions posed. Try to form an opinion about one or more of the clips that really resonates with you.
Then find one piece of academic literature to back up at least one of your views and LINK it to your main point. There is a useful reference on the last slide and a guide to the library search.
Then post your paragraph on BB, no more than 150 words. I will stop reading after 150 words!
If you want to comment on someone else's post you can do that too!
