Data Collection Procedure
To collect our data, Chelsea Sulkey observed her customers at the CVS pharmacy where she works. She rated their patience levels according to our patient or not patient definition and recorded the data for our group to review.
We can define patience through observable body language as well as verbally.
Patient Not Patient
asking one question asking multiple
taking a seat foot tapping
smiling frowning
talking with others huffing
eye rolling
verbal hostility
Conclusion
Although our research concluded insignificant data, and proved our hypothesis wrong we still observed some interesting results. We found that in fact more men showed signs of patience over women, and as a whole the numbers of impatient customers was greater than that of the patient customers.
Men and women have different social skills, with this study we are questioning who is more patient while picking up a prescription. We hypothesized women will exhibit greater observable patience because they tend to be more social and talkative.
