You will be given 3 quotes (used in the presentation) and will have to match it to it's other half.

For each correct answer you will be given one point!
-People born in a caste are "tied" to that destiny

Caste System Structure
- Is a systematic structure determined by birth.
- 5 levels of caste system
This affected his character:
- Starts from the bottom then reaches it way up
- They are social classes that separate individuals from others based on inheritance, profession and wealth.
it originated 2000 years ago and till this day people still abide by it.
the main castes are Brahmin, the priests; Kshatriya, warriors and nobility; Vaisya, farmers, traders and artisans; and Shudra, tenant farmers and servants.
And the untouchables who are not part of the caste system.
What are the untouchables? This was not the lowest caste - they and their descendants were completely outside of the caste system.
Mahatma Gandhi worked to end discrimination against the untouchables in India. He called them "harijan" meaning children of god.
-The people in India follow a set of beliefs of a chosen destiny, which prevents Balram from going beyond classism to achieve his goals. A belief which carries onto towards his servitude for the wealthy that creates implied inequality towards Balram.
-The White Tiger, by Aravind Adiga encompasses Balram’s life story of entrepreneurship through hardships and the symbolizing clash of Darkness and Light
-Balram writes letters to the Chinese Premier Mr. Jiabao to describe what the idea of entrepreneurship is and how it improved himself.
-He raises through the depths of the Darkness and raises into the Light using only his wits and his common knowledge
