Parabola forms-y=ax and y=ax +c

Vertex-Very top or bottom of a parabola

Also y=ax +bx+c is the formula for a parabola and if the ax is negative then the parabola will be upside down and if it is positive the the parabola will be rightside up

Radicals

Polynomial

Radical expression-an expression that contains a radical

A radical expression is simplified if the following statements are true:

  • The radicand has no perfect-square factors other than one
  • The radicand contains no fractions
  • No radicals appear in the denominator of a fraction

Monomial-real number, variable, or a product of a real number and one or more variables with whole number exponents.

You can use the multiplication property of square roots to simplify radicals by removing perfect-square factors from the radicand

When a radicand has a denominator that is a perfect square, it is easier to apply the division property of square roots first and then simplify the numerator and denominator of the result. When the denominator of the radicand is a perfect square it may be easier to simplify.

Degree of a polynomial-The sum of the exponent of its variables. The degree of a nonzero constant is zero.
