Angelic Acid was discovered by Ludwig Andreas Buchner (1813–1897) in 1842 from the roots of the garden plant Angelica. Angelic Acid is found naturally in the roots of plants in order to create resin or olis.
Angelic Acid is produced synthetically by the elimination of water from x,hydroxyl -x-methylbutyric acid where x is either 1,2,or 3. This is done at 100 degrees Celsius
Angelic Acids are mainly used for medicinal purposes
