Also save your session file (.fcp) onto your $drive to backup at the start or end of each session.
If you know there are some takes that you won't need due to things going wrong delete them from the camera. This saves you looking through them at the editing stage and also speeds up the conversion.
Make sure that you are saving render files onto the hard drive. This means that all your files are on the drive and you can work from any other Mac with Final Cut Express on with no fuss or issues.
Successfully film the same shot a couple of times where possible... especially if you are replying on a shot/repeat shot technique or ad lib.

Your footage is being imported as 1920x1080i50. Your session should be the same settings. If not then you will have to render everything you put onto the timeline wasting time and hard drive space.
