Team Analysis

Introduction

Formation based on most recent game

1-4-2-3-1 (1-4-5-1)

Family

Defensive Third

Tendency to play direct by bypassing midfield into forwards. Occassionally defenders looked to play into midfield. Goal kicks are taken by one of the two center backs. who plays out of position. Overall no intention to build out from the back.

Midfield Third

Tendency to look for 2nd balls (knock downs) from goal kicks or play direct/diagonal passes to forwards #18, #19, #7 and #8

Attacking Third

Break down opponent defence with through balls (centrally), combinations between individuals and diagonal balls into wide space behind opponents backline

My Story

Team Playing Model Objective

My objective for introducing a possession based style of play based on my observation of video and the SB St. Joe Game

Principles

Using the GK and the whole team to play out of the defensive third with short and long passes

Possession to create numerical superiority

Positional play

Techniques to recover ball

Cues when to play direct and diagonal long passes

Organizational play - corners, free kicks, recovering the ball in groups
