20 years of working as a politically activist, fighting for the rights of Indians, led strikes and protests in India. Within 6 years of his return to India he was elected president. Changed the people’s vision, instead of violence based he urged non-violent civil disobedience. It was a long arduous process, but his vision for a free India that was home ruled was gained in 1947.
