In the first quote it was showing how she feels about people at her school. She feels excluded and unwanted. Almost like nobody wants her to be there.

In the second quote it shows just how paranoid she is about these maggots and worms that she sees in her dreams. When she wrote about this she was in a hospital because they thought she was mentally unstable.

In the book Go Ask Alice there are not one but two symbols. In Alice’s dreams she sees maggots and worms constantly. In her dream she doesn’t just see the maggots and worms anywhere, she sees them all over herself. The maggots and worms she sees in her dreams are a symbol by showing that she is emotionally scared and terrified. Because she is so fragile emotionally, it makes her feel fragile physically too. (which is why the worms and maggots are all over her body) The worms and maggots also represent the pain and gnawing that she feels while at school. When she is not at her house she is constantly bullied and teased by almost everyone at her school. The worms and maggots show how she feels about people eating away at her.

What made me look up these questions about small stores is that in my book Alice and Chis both runaway from the small town they live in. When they realize that they need more money to survive, they open a small store of there own. After looking up these questions I learned many things. I learned that it costs lots of money to even start to run a store. Also that if you want the most successful store that it should be an apple store. To open a store you might need three things, a collage degree, a little money and some experience. The most common small store is consignment shops and they get an average in-store sales are 1.2million dollars.
