The ADA guaranteed all Americans access to "employment, public accommodation, transportation, State and local government services, and telecommunications" (U. S. Department of Education, 2017). Required schools to assure accessibility of facilities, buses and communication.

The ADA Amendments amends the ADA of 1990. These amendments affected the meaning of "disability" in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, requiring that the definition be interpreted broadly as well as expanded the scope of "major life activities" (U. S. Department of Education, 2017).

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs and activities hat receive federal financial assistance (U. S. Department of Education, 2017).

FERPA gives parents certain rights with their child's educational records. These rights transfer to students when they are 18 (Thomas Reuters, 2017).

Case: Owasso Independent School v. Falvo - 00-1073 (2002): The Supreme Court ruled that grades on peer graded papers do not qualify as educational records protected by FERPA.
