Socio-economic factors:

Why should other countries care?

HIV/AIDS CAN EASILY BE SPREAD

Since Ethiopia is next to a water passageway, it gives Ethiopia a direct export/import route. This means that because sex-trafficking is happening all over Ethiopia, infected citizens can easily spread the disease onto neighboring countries. Also, because of the closeness to water, other illness can easily be contaminated into the surrounding water zones.

Statistics in Ethiopia vs US on HIV/AIDS

  • Only .03 physicians per 1000.
  • Life expectancy for Ethiopians is an average of 61. 48 years old
  • Males= 59.11 yrs
  • Females=63.93 yrs
