Both the Nuer and the Dinka tribes' culture involved cattle in some way. The Nuer did not really use their cattle for food, but they did drink the milk. For the Dinka Tribe, milk, in different forms, is a main source of food. In the Nuer Tribe just like the Dinka Tribe, the cattle is taken of by the men. Often though, since both tribes had a great volume of cattle they would find over cattle grazing land.
The Nuer and Dinka Tribes were similar in many different ways when it came to culture. They shared a language resembling the other, both of their cultures included cicatrix that were alike, they were both from South Sudan, both inhabited land near the Nile River, and many more things. Since the two tribes were so similar they often fought over things like land, cattle, and they had an ancient ethnic history of fighting.
Both the Nuer and Dinka Tribes were from South Sudan. The Dinka Tribe inhabited the land along the White Nile River. The Nuer Tribe occupied both the land along the border of Ethiopia and the land near the Nile River. South Sudan became its own country in 2011, after the war between the divided North and South of Sudan. The Nuer and Dinka Tribes were part of the South during the war. When the war was over, they became part of the new country called South Sudan.
