Cuban missile crisis

Where: Cuba, Caribbean Sea

Who: United States and the Soviet Union over Soviet ballistic missiles deployed in Cuba.

What: Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev decided to agree to Cuba's request to place nuclear missiles in Cuba to deter future harassment of Cuba.

So What: A lot of threats were invade with measles and invading countries.

When: June 5 and 10, 1967

Who: Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt , Jordan, and Syria

What: Relations between Israel and its neighbours had never fully normalized following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, and in the period leading up to June 1967 tensions became dangerously heightened.

Why: The Egyptians, whose defensive infrastructure was in a poor state, were caught by surprise and virtually the entire Egyptian air force was destroyed with few Israeli losses, giving the Israelis air superiority. Simultaneously, the Israelis launched a ground offensive into the Gaza strip and through the northern and central routes of the Sinai, which again caught the Egyptians by surprise

So What: the part of the Viet Cong in the fighting decreased as the role of the NVA grew. U.S. and South Vietnamese forces relied on air superiority and overwhelming firepower to conduct search and destroy operations

What: on 70,000 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces launched the Tet Offensive a coordinated series of fierce attacks on more than 100 cities and towns in South Vietnam.

Why: planned the offensive in an attempt both to foment rebellion among the South Vietnamese population and encourage the United States to scale back its support.

Why: Czechoslovakia wanted to become independent
