There are many possible technological solutions that could slow global warming, or alleviate the effects of climate change. These fall under the category of geoengineering.
The full effects of our changing climate cannot be felt currently as a result of numerous negative feedback loops that will continue to amplify warming cycles even if CO2 emissions are greatly decreased.

Renewable Energy
Development of renewable energy sources could greatly decrease or even eliminate our reliance on fossil fuels
Many climate scientists use "Wedge Plans" similar to the one shown below to illustrate suggested methods for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
Policy Solutions:
Legislation combating climate change could take many forms, including:
A flat tax on carbon emissions
A cap and trade scheme to regulate emissions
Energy efficiency regulations
Other environmental protection legislation
Atmospheric CO2 Levels
Across the world, in every kind of environment and region known to man, increasingly dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly putting an end to the long-running debate over whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real, it's here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man-made natural disaster...
