Rain Gauge

Barometer

The person that invented the rain gauge is Christopher Wren in 1662.A rain gauge is used to measure the amount precipitation over a specific amount of time. The rain gauge is a tube with a tiny metal pole about 5 or 6 in. tall with lines and numbers to measure the precipitation. A rain gauge is a instrument used by meteorologist and hydrologist to gather precipitation over a set period of time.

The person that invented the barometer was Evangelista Torricelli in 1643.The barometer is used for measuring atmospheric pressure.A barometer looks almost like a pocket watch . It has a lot of numbers and has one hand to measure atmospheric pressure. It has five little markings on it one is a cloud with a lightning bolt the other one is a rain cloud the other one is a cloud with a sun behind it and the last one is a sun. They measure atmospheric pressure ueing mercury, water or air.

Windsock

Thermometer

Windsocks are at air ports to indicate the direction and streingth of the wind to pilots and at chemical plants where there is risk of gas leaking. The windsock is a big pole with a big net around it with ropes to atatch it to the pole.A windsock works by the wind blowing into the net to show what direction the wind is blowing and how strong it is.

The person that invented the thermometer was Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit in 1709.The thermometer is used to tell you if you have a cold or how hot and cold it outside. They are made of plastic and have ouccahal with numbers on the side of where the oucahal runs up and down. When you see a outside bulb thermometer you will see a red or silver line that grows when it is in hot weather and will go down when it is in cold weather.

Anemometer

The person that invented the anemometer is Leon Battaista Alerti invented the anemometer in 1664.A anemometer is used for measuring wind speed.A anemometer has a big metal rod with four other small thin rods with four hollow spheres split in half. When the wind blows, the little cups start to rotate making the rod spin. The faster the wind blows the faster the rod spins.
