Background of the Study

This study aims to provide information on how graphic visual representations helps in promoting health care education and implementation of Department of Health's Program. Infographics would help the said department to disseminate information and give a better understanding of the campaigns/ programs that DOH had. The main focus of the infographics that would be made are Tuberculosis, Family Planning, Anti- Smoking Act, Rabies, Dengue, and Leptospirosis .

Rationale

"Without action, almost 400 million people will die from diseases in the next 10 years. Many of these deaths will be affecting families, communities and countries alike."(Dr. Catherine Le Galès-Camus, Assistant Director-General for Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health).

This study is worth pursuing because it may help the Department of Health to promote the Health campaigns in more creative way. This may also help the country to step up its way in promoting health programs in the communities.

It may also help the future researchers to have a guidance in making/ creating an infographics for the promotion of health care. The government and the Municipality of General Trias can also use this study in creating policies and for the promotion of health in the Municipality and other places within the country. The Department of Health and Rural Health Unit can use the design made by the researcher to catch the attention of the public to promote the health campaigns. This study will help the Department of Health in increasing the rate of healthy community in the Philippines.

The final output will have a design that would be based on the information's that have been gathered during the research. Benchmark study will also be included for the betterment of the designs intended for the infographic campaign poster of the Department of Health. The poster will have designs that the researcher included in the Inspiration Elements.

The content of the output will be the following: about the diseases, symptoms, causes, treatment, prevention, and facts about the diseases. The final output will help the Department of Health to promote and lessen the number of diseases.

The study aims to deliver proper health information with the use of infographics poster that will be the final output of the study for the promotion of health and health programs of the following diseases: Tuberculosis, Leptospirosis, Dengue, Rabies, Anti- Smoking Act and Family Planning. Health Promotion helps the community to get the proper information of the diseases present in the communities. It determines the prevention and proper improvement of self wellness of the individuals for the improvement of health and the improvement of the whole community. Health campaigns are in highly in need of promotion for the dissemination of information for the community especially the low class people. The design made for the campaign will be based on the information gathered through the research conducted.

Definition of Terms

Department of Health (DOH)- is a government sector that regulate the quality of health care in the country. The said department create programs that gives the public a good quality of service for all the diseases that the country had.

Graphics- visual images and designs that can be seen in a paper, wall, canvas, screen and etc. that inform and illustrate facts for the public to see.

Health Campaign- raise awareness to health issues and promotes better understanding of the diseases.

Health Programs- manages the health benefits that ensures the quality of health care within the community.

Infographics- a visual representation that consist of informational images more than words that can help to catch the attention of the public.

Rural Health Unit- is responsible for create policies and programs that would promote the health of the people in the community.

Objectives

Generally, the study aims to design an infographics poster that will help DOH campaign against Tuberculosis, Smoking, Dengue and provide information about Leptospirosis, Family Planning and Rabies.

Specifically, the researcher aimed to:

1. To design posters that will illustrate proper ways of preventing these diseases and proper ways of taking care of the body

2. To identify the facts about Tuberculosis, Smoking, Dengue, Leptospirosis, Family Planning, and Rabies

3. To do a benchmark study to Department of Health and other health organization

4. To give a sample output of infographic posters to Department Of Health
