DFPS in the News:
The times are changing rapidly and with new forms of communication, the Texas Youth and Runaway Hotline has to somehow keep up. DFPS started a new campaign in April were teens and families may text or interact in a live chat with one of the DFPS hotline operators. Director of the Texas Youth and Runaway Hotline feels that teens seem to communicate more through text than through the telephone. So they are accommodating for their previous disconnect.

One main function of DFPS is to protect the unprotected.
DFPS impacts the people of Texas by taking children and adults out of dangerous situations. They provide safe transportation and housing to people who need to be removed from neglected homes. The people that work at the Department of Family and Protective Services really care for the people they are protecting. They want the best for them and for them to be safe. These are just some of the things that DFPS does for Texas's people.
