Intervention :The United States attempts to mediate in the Venezuela-Great Britain dispute in 1895.
Venezuela was in the middle of a dispute with Great Britain. "The Venezuelan Boundary Dispute officially began in 1841, when the Venezuelan Government protested alleged British encroachment on Venezuelan territory. In 1814, Great Britain had acquired British Guiana (now Guyana) by treaty with the Netherlands. Because the treaty did not define a western boundary."
After, they all began to claim different lands. In 1876, Venezuela broke off the diplomatic relations with Great Britain and asked the United States for help.They kept asking for help for the next 19 years, and the U.S did little to help them.This categorizes as Intervention becuase Venezuela is trying to get U.S to help them.

Imperialism: The United States annexes Hawaii in 1900.
"America's annexation of Hawaii in 1898 extended U.S. territory into the Pacific and highlighted resulted from economic integration and the rise of the United States as a Pacific power." The U.S was concerned about Hawaii becoming European territory. " Hawaii became a protectorate of the United States and in 1897, under President McKinley, was made an American Territory."
This is categorized as Imperialism becuase Hawaii before becoming United States territory was ruled by David Kalkaua. David was at head of the Hawaiian Throne in 1887. Shortly after he is crowned he dies, his sister Lili’uokalan established a revolutionary government, but today the country is runed by the President of the United States.
Isolationism: The United States declines to give aid to Hungarian patriots in 1849.
"During this time, The US had a strict isolationist policy, which meant we refused to involve ourselves with foreign conflicts unless it had to do with us. Instead on focusing on foreign affairs, in the mid-1800's we concentrated more on the idea of Manifest Destiny."
This has to do with Isolation because the United Sates did not want to deal with anything that didn't have to do with the U.S. "Hungary is inhabited almost exclusively by Hungarians (Magyars), who constitute 96.1 percent of its population. The remaining 3.9 percent is made up of Germans, Slovaks, South Slavs, Gypsies, and Romanians."
