I choose the song "Take me to Church" by Hozier because this is when the murders ran away to the church and spent many days there.
I choose the song "Heroes(We Could Be)" by Alesso because cause I felt like that's what the boys were feeling when all the articles came out about them being heroes. In the song it says:
We could hide away in daylight
We go undercover, wait out the sun
Got a secret side in plain sight and I felt
Johnny and Pony had a secert side.
I chose the song "Wild One" by Jerry Lee Lewis because it sets the tone for the book. This chapter was mainly Ponyboy introducing the gang and describing the greaser lifestyle. I chose a famous 1960s song to set the mood. Also the
Greasers think of
themselves as wild.
For my final reading project for The Outsiders I chose to find a song that represents each chapter in the book.
I chose the song "Running Away" by Jesse McCartney for chapter 3 because this is the chapter when Darry hits Ponyboy and Pony runs away with Johnny
I chose "Beat it" by Michael Jackson for chapter 9
because the song is about a rumble and the
rumble is in chapter 9.
I chose the song Cherry Cherry by Neil Diamond for chapter 2 because this is the chapter when Ponyboy first meets Cherry at the drive-in. It is
also from the 60's
and this is a very
upbeat song and in
the chapter Pony is very
happy
I chose the song "Church on Fire" by Hillsong because it it rocking like something intense is happening and
it is about a church fie and the fire at the
church is in this
chapter
I chose the song "Man Down" by Walk Off The Earth for chapter 4 because it is about killing a man and having to get out of sight. Though it is a little to upbeat for the chapter though the word are great.
I chose "Born to Die" by Lana Del Rey because it is a sad song about death and in this chapter Dally dies
