How did rice come to the U.S.?

How did rice positively impact the United States?

Wild rice is native to the United States. We did not domesticate rice. We eventually inherited an asian descendant of it.

Rice can be grown anywhere with an abundance of water which allowed us to grow a large quantity of it.

What is needed to grow rice?

Rice thrives in submerged land in the coastal plains, tidal deltas, and river basins of tropical, semitropical, and temperate parts of the World.

Describe the life cycle of rice and why our geography is important to this process

Wild rice grows up to ten feet tall, it grows in shallow marshes, and along shores and streams throughout the U.S.
