Me, as a geographer.

Now I live in main halls on campus and experience geography everyday, when I navigate around campus.

My Family Background

My Family comes from the Manchester area and they all currently live in Rochdale.

I was born and raised in Rochdale.

Rochdale is North East of Manchester, and I live in the village of Norden. Recent changes to the landscape mean I can find home from miles away.

Travelling

I love to travel, to see and experience new places. On our family holidays we usually go to somewhere in Western Europe and travel by car. This means we visit more places on our journey and drive through many countries.

Rochdale is home to the Co-operative movement and also has the widest road bridge in Europe. The town is surrounded by hills and countryside although it is only 30 minutes from Manchester City centre by car.

Geography is everywhere, in books, films and tv.

In total I have visited 14 countries

The surrounding hills of Rochdale and the views they create have always interested me and I have always felt quite attached to the area because of them. Also a small woodland area in Norden was a place i loved to explore when i was younger, with a river flowing through, and a waterfall at one part.

My favourite book is "Chasing Daisy" by Paige Toon.

The story follows a girl who works with an F1 team and so visits many places. I enjoy the book because it describes these different places very well, and makes you want to go and visit them too.
