In American students switch classes every period to go to the next class.

The school day in America is about seven hours long including lunch and gym.

In Madrid the students stay in the same class all day and the teachers switch to each class for them.

The average school day in Madrid is about six hours long and they don't eat lunch in school.

Difference Ways to Hold School Supplies

In American schools students have lockers to put their books , supplies , and belongings in.

In Madrid they do not rent their books they have to buy them. Buying books and supplies can result in spending hundreds of dollars. Sometimes up to $400. Us in America don't have to pay for books unless we are in college.

On the other hand in Madrid they carry their things around with them throughout the day.
