Real Life Example of Climate Change:

5. Climate Change

  • This picture shows one of the reasons the climate is currently changing.

- Is a change in global or regional climate patterns, which happens because of the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels. Meaning that because of the modern day things we create the world is going through a global warming.

Real Life Example of Habitat Destruction:

  • This is the destruction of a forest which is home to jaguars, owls, wolves and woodpeckers.

1. Habitat Destruction

3. Pollution

- Is the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects. Meaning it isn't good for the environment at all.

- Is the process in which a natural habitat is rendered functionally unable to support the species present. Meaning the animals or creatures who previously lived there are either destroyed, or forced to relocate.

6. Over Harvesting

- Is one of five primary activities threatening global biodiversity; others include pollution, introduced species, habitat fragmentation, and habitat destruction. Meaning that because of the fact that we take more food than what we actually need its threatening certain species, such as aquatic species like fish.

Real Life Examples of Invasive Species:

HIPPCO

This video shows how one Invasive Species can completely take over another species.

Real Life Examples of Pollution:

Real Life Example of Population Control:

Stands for:

  • Habitat Destruction
  • Invasive Species
  • Pollution
  • Population Control
  • Climate Change
  • Over Harvesting
  • This is a crash course video that explains population growth and why we need population control.
  • This is an example of water pollution where the water is so heavily polluted with trash that your barely able to move through it.

4. Population Control

2. Invasive Species

- Is a reaction to the prediction by Thomas Malthus that the world's population would soon outgrow its food supply. Meaning that we would have to limit the number of births we have in order to limit the growth of the worlds population.

- Is an organism (plant, animal, fungus, or bacterium) that is not native and has negative effects on our economy, our environment, or our health. Meaning they come in, take over, and leave the species who already occupied the place with no home.

Real Life Example of Over Harvesting:

  • This video shows how Over Harvesting affects aquatic animals like fish because of how much of it we eat.
